Bad Fish Tattoo, a Norwalk, CT tattoo studio, today announced that Pieter Spijkers has acquired substantially all of the assets of the company from its current owner, Anthony Neave. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Originally opened in 2008 and acquired by Mr. Neave in 2014, Bad Fish Tattoo is a highly-rated, well-known studio that has been safely and skillfully creating tattoo art for resident fans of ink for more than a decade. Under Mr. Neave’s control, Bad Fish has greatly expanded its loyal client base and cemented its reputation as a premier tattoo studio.
“Bad Fish has been facilitating area resident’s expressions of art and style in a welcoming environment for more than ten years now,” said Mr. Neave. “I am proud of our artwork, our clean execution, and our rigorous dedication to cleanliness and safety. It is a pleasure to be able to sell to Pieter, who I am confident will carry on with the same artistic quality and operational rigor.”
New owner Pieter Spijkers added, “It has been a tremendous pleasure working with Anthony for all of these years, and I am incredibly excited to continue to build out the preeminent studio in the area. We’ve created a very loyal client base and nurtured an excellent reputation, and I look forward to continuing that reputation and introducing even more tattoo fans – new and old – to the Bad Fish experience.”
Mr. Neave and Mr. Spijkers added that they were very grateful for the guidance and assistance of Irene Syomichev of Comer Business Brokers. “Selling a business, even among colleagues, can be a complicated, stressful, and trying experience. Having Irene to help steer the transaction process and keep everything on track was extremely helpful.”
“Anthony and Pieter are both passionate about the business and the art, and I am quite confident that Pieter will continue to build on the successful foundation Anthony built,” said Ms. Syomichev, a CBB Agent. “This was a truly unique opportunity to really ‘ink’ a great deal, and it is profoundly satisfying to help connect such dedicated professionals. At CBB, we never tire of helping Connecticut business owners Sell Well.”
