Pet-owners and Furry Friends Rejoice! CBB advises on Sale of Natural Pet Food Store.

25 June 2019

Your Healthy Pet, a Newtown, CT, all-natural pet food and supply retail store, announced that Dianne Bromley and Christopher Ranaudo have acquired substantially all of the assets of the company from its current owners, Tom and Mary-Kay Novak.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

After experiencing a frustrating and heartbreaking journey with the health of one of their beloved family pets, Tom and Mary-Kay Novak felt there was a need for a retail pet food store that offered not only healthy products and solutions for dogs and cats but the knowledge and information that pet owners deserved.  Armed with an entrepreneurial spirit, a sadness that converted to a mission and knowledge gathered from exhaustive research, Your Healthy Pet was established in 2009. After 10 rewarding years of servicing the pet families in their surrounding communities, the Novak’s would like to retire and focus their energies on their family.  Separating themselves from the store and the customers has been a difficult and emotional decision for the Novak’s but they feel they have found the right buyer to carry-on.  Tom explains that “Christine Motta, of Comer Business Brokers, who assisted us with the sale, not only found us the perfect buyer but was with us every step of the way guiding us through the process.” Mary-Kay, although sad to say goodbye, looks forward to spending more time with her grandchildren and offered “we are thrilled to have Dianne and Chris take over this store.  We are confident that they will continue to provide the same friendly, knowledgeable experience and healthy products to our customers into the foreseeable future.”

Dianne, the owner of Oliver & Company in Middlebury, believes that pets thrive with a holistic approach to health supported by quality natural products.  She is formally trained as a Clinical Pet Nutritionist, Homeopathic Educator and Holistic Animal Care Consultant with over 10 years’ experience.  With a solid passion in pet’s well-being, the opportunity of adding a second store to increase availability of these products was a piece of cake.  Dianne shares “it was an easy decision for me when the opportunity for a well-run store, in such close proximity to mine became available.  Mary-Kay and Tom have the same business philosophy as I do, and I look forward to taking very good care of their customers.”  She continued “this process was quite tedious and much more complicated then I could have expected.  I am grateful that I had Christine Motta of Comer Business Brokers there to assist and guide me along the way.  Not only did Chris advise me but she connected me with consultants that could help and advise me throughout the process.”

“It was a pleasure to meet and work with Tom, Mary-Kay, Dianne and Chris on the sale of this pet food retailer” explained Christine Motta, an Agent with Comer Business Brokers who assisted the owners and buyers with this transaction.  “It is extremely rewarding for me to guide my clients and their buyers through the many steps necessary to ultimately conclude the sale”.

Please join us in welcoming Dianne and Chris by stopping into the store and saying hello.  They look forward to your visit.
